Introduction
中央研究院政治學研究所於民國91年8月1日成立籌備處，而於民國101年8月1日正式成所，首任所長為吳玉山博士。政治所之總體研究目標為「以理論為導向、以區域為基礎的比較政治與國際關係研究」。在此總體架構之下，設置五大研究群組，分別是：「台灣政治與新興民主國家」、「中國大陸研究與社會主義政經轉型」、「兩岸關係與國際關係理論」、「東亞政治變遷與全球民主發展」，與「政治學研究方法」，上述研究領域涵蓋我國當前重大的政治發展議題和學術研究範疇。近十餘年來，發表中英文期刊約二百多篇、中英文專書十餘冊、中英文專書及會議論文約四百篇、參與國內外大型計劃二百餘項。除個別同仁研究成果豐碩外，也致力於推動學術活動，包括共舉辦近三百次演講、十屆方法論研習營，及四十餘場大型研討會等。
